The Mysteries of Time

I was intrigued by what he said about time, especially his emphasis on time not being part of the dimension he came from. In truth, I have been very obsessed with the concept of Time, especially the hypothetical claim of time travel. I have tirelessly questioned the nature of time, and whether it exists outside of our immediate perception.

Time, to me, is part of the experience in reality that I could not help my mind around. It has defeated my reasoning flawlessly. And this is my opportunity to ‘naked’ the mysteries of time. I thought to myself.

I asked my visitor about the concept of time; How do they see time from their dimension? Also, the idea of time travel, which I have lost my mind to, for a long time. Why am I drawn to it?

This is his response which I think is very profound…

“You’re imprisoned in an invisible element you call time. It is in your nature and your kind to fight back anything that locks you up. You hate to be caged and you’d at all costs find a way to be liberated.
Time, as you describe it, works in your ‘elzi’ (which means mind/soul — a cognitive process). It is not a physical component within your dimensions. We do not see time in your dimension and it doesn’t exist in ours. It is your mystery, your nightmare. It is what binds you to your world. 
The moment you break this bond to your world, then you’ll gain liberty from your nightmare. But there is a secret which is open to you; you have no past, no present, and no future. It’s all the same. When you understand this, you’ll unlock yourself from your mystery…”

At this point, I accept that the answers to most of our questions are the beginning of more questions. Of course, he doesn’t expect me to fully comprehend all he just said. My facial expression says it all — it was obvious to him. However, he cared to elaborate:

“You’re fashioned to see things in relation to the other; to carve out distinction objectively and subjectively… and you exist within this frame of reality. Your species lives by the philosophy of relationship, and the concept of time is your best chance to describe these phenomena. You cannot exist within and outside of the same frame. You can not fathom or live beyond the within, being enclosed in the within…except from the without. This is a nightmare, a mystery — a cognitive being like yourself cannot be free from within your very frame of existence. Such liberty is attainable when you exist outside of the very frame. It is simple to comprehend this transient nature of your form of reality this way – you cannot see the whole of a house you are in except you’re out in some distance from it.”

Here, I could remember a quote by Ernst Mach, which says:

‘It is utterly beyond our power to measure the changes of things by time… time is an abstraction at which we arrive through the changes of things.’

This is where I think we should wash our faces and get refreshed. If you’re not holding a pack of popcorn, I’d advise you to do that now, because this is only the beginning. Unfortunately, I do not have the strength and patience to put everything into writing.

I’d have to jump a large chunk of the conversation. Hopefully, this is enough clue for my readers to see time differently and understand its mysteries. The next set of paragraphs (which is moved to Part III of the same title) is about time travel; its possibilities and its paradox.
